[ It's a strange moment of clarity between the electrifying performance, the energy and the effort being exerted to really bring it all together. It's rare that Megumi actually opens up to anyone about herself, even when she becomes friends with them- and it's for the sole reason that she doesn't want anyone worrying for her when they can't do much for her in their state.
She hates that thought, of being a burden on someone. It's why when she found herself growing close to a warlord from centuries ago, it seemed so bizarre- and she'd assumed it would be fleeting. He'd already have so much else on his mind, so many other people to concern himself with. What was he going to need from her, anyway? And yet, somehow, she did find that despite that- she wanted to remove that sad darkness from his eye, that look of anger that had somehow settled in there like a thundercloud.
All that he'd been through, somehow, came together in the fact that he could rely on her- that he let her in, and she wasn't going to upset that or hurt him. She's a healer, after all... maybe this is what her power was for.
Maybe she actually can heal more than what she believes, and protect the people she cares for.
... in the Wild War Dance
And no longer...! And where's your soul?!
Somewhere down the line, his presence, his person, just became so valuable for her to protect that she'd do anything to keep his idiot smile. Not just for herself, but for the friends and comrades that look up to him and have faith in him. If he's going to lead when he returns to his world, she'll just have to be what pushes him towards his success so he can return like the cocky, confident little ass she knows him as.
Even if she never sees him again after it... she finds herself slowing down as she makes the guitar disappear, taking the final steps to the directions to end the song and it finishes up with a flourish of sparks and splashes in the hologram imagery behind them as their score circles them speedily counting down. Megumi is breathless by that point and their scores suddenly stop and come together before announcing VICTORY-
YOU HAVE TIED!!!
And Megumi can't help it, she bursts out laughing, as fake holographic sparkles and confetti fall around them, and her hand moves to Masamune's shoulder as she moves around in front of him and drops her forehead against his collarbone, still laughing at their success. Normally she'd be angry, even affronted that she tied, but-
Nah. This is nicer. She looks up at him, blue eyes bright as she watches him among the streaming sparks of light and glitter and she chuckles as she finally speaks up again.
And for the first time in a while, she notices that he's a really, really handsome guy for a dumbass idiot who just made her sing and move around in a stupid app, but-
He's smiling. And she wants to keep that smile on him so badly. ]

I totally won that.
[ Because she's mature. Like a 5-year old. ]
